A little more than two months after the accident, an individual was arrested Wednesday morning at his home in Valentigney, near Montbéliard.

He is accused of having fired fireworks which seriously injured a 4-year-old girl in the leg on July 13 during the festivities in Mandeure (Doubs).

This 26-year-old man, an amateur fireworks technician, had incorrectly positioned the pyrotechnic device at the time of the accident, according to France Bleu Belfort-Montbéliard.

Then he had fled.

Before being found then placed in police custody where he admitted the facts.
