Germany records more than 15 thousand cases of “Corona” in one day

The German Robert Koch Institute announced this morning a slight increase in the weekly infection rate with the emerging “Corona” virus, after it had recently recorded a decline.

The institute explained that this rate, which is the number of infections per 100,000 people over a period of seven days, reached 83.5 this morning.

While it was 82.7 yesterday (Wednesday), it was 76.9 a week ago, according to the German news agency.

It is noteworthy that this rate reached its lowest level since the outbreak of the epidemic in the spring of last year, and reached 4.9 in early July.

Today, the institute added that health offices in Germany recorded 15,431 new cases of the virus within 24 hours, in addition to 50 deaths.

It is noteworthy that the weekly infection rate was the standard until now for imposing restrictions to combat “Corona”, within the framework of what is known as the emergency brake law that was lifted at the end of last June.

In the future, it is scheduled to take into account other factors to impose “Corona” restrictions, such as the number of cases admitted to hospitals.

According to the institute's data, the number of cases of HIV infection since its outbreak in Germany in the spring of last year has reached four million and 46 thousand and 112 cases.

But the institute indicated that the actual number of cases may be higher, because many cases of infection have not been discovered and registered.
