Russia's Anzhelika Sidorova became the 4th pole vaulter to do better than the symbolic 5m height, clearing 5.01m in the Diamond League finals in Zurich on Thursday.

Olympic runner-up in Tokyo, the reigning world champion cleared 5.01m on the 3rd try after she had already won a long time against Greece's Katerina Stefanidi (4.77m), greatly improving her personal best. (4.95 m).

With the best performance of the season, Sidorova (30) became the 2nd best performer in outdoor history, 5 cm from the world record of her compatriot Yelena Isinbayeva (5.06 m in 2009).

Apart from the two Russians, only the Americans Sandi Morris (5m in 2016) and Jennifer Suhr (5.03m indoors in 2016) have already exceeded the mythical 5m bar.

Sidorova (30) stopped her competition after passing 5.01m.
