A security guard in Saudi Arabia managed to stop an expatriate who tried to escape after he molested a girl while she was inside a shopping mall in Hail.
The video clip, which was documented by a surveillance camera in the mall, showed the reaction of the security guard when he saw a large-bodied arrival, who was said to be an Afghan, after he harassed the girl, heading towards the door to escape from it, so he carried the chair and directed it towards him forcefully to obstruct his escape.
As a result, the harasser fell to the ground, as the security guard quickly closed the door of the mall and helped his colleague to tighten their grip on him.
The method of arresting the perpetrator by the security guard sparked widespread controversy on the communication platforms in Saudi Arabia, where a number of activists and followers praised the guard's behavior, and some blamed him for what he did.
In response to the circulating video, the security guard, Abdul Rahman Al-Shammari, who confronted the harasser, commented, through his Twitter account, in response to some of the comments that accompanied the video, especially after he hit the expatriate with the chair to prevent him from escaping: “They managed to arrest the harasser and wanted to hand him over to the administration, but he tried to escape. What prompted him to confront him in this way and beat him to control him.”
And the guard added, in his tweet, "that he bears any legal accountability for himself and his other colleague as a result of his behavior."
Various regions in the Kingdom have previously witnessed cases of harassment, the last of which was a few days ago, when the Medina police arrested a young man after he was spotted in a video clip while harassing women in a public facility.
