When the young Emirati woman (Amira) visited the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, for the first time, she was unable to move her legs since birth, so the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team developed an intensive treatment plan customized for her condition and followed her closely to reach her The recovery phase, as this plan included one of the latest advanced treatment technologies, the Locomat device, the newest device in the center. Locomat is a highly specialized exoskeleton robotic device designed to assist adult patients and children with severe mobility impairments who need to learn to walk again.

The Executive Director of Medical Affairs at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Dr. Nawal Al Kaabi, stressed the keenness to provide a world-class treatment program to the UAE community, and to seek to benefit from the latest medical developments, to improve the quality of health care and clinical outcomes for patients.
