At the word of a lie from an American woman in her 40s who was late for boarding the plane, the plane that was moving to the runway returned to the boarding gate and all passengers were evacuated.

According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office in Florida on the 8th (local time), Chicago resident Marina Verbitski, 46, was arrested on the 6th at about 9 pm on the 6th for threatening with a false explosive at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Verbitski had an accident on the way home from a family trip to Florida.

She and her husband and son checked in for the JetBlue flight to Chicago, but arrived too late at the gate and could not board.

Then they tried to return the plane, claiming that "my checked baggage already loaded in the cabin contains explosives".

Prosecutors said Verbitski was screaming at airline staff at the boarding gate and swearing.

Eventually, the plane, which was moving toward the runway, returned to the boarding gate, and all passengers on board were evacuated.

Afterwards, airport security and police conducted a search for the plane, but no threatening devices or clues were found.

The plane was originally scheduled to take off at 8:45 p.m., but was only able to depart for Chicago at 2 a.m. the next day.

The Florida Attorney's Office said Verbitski was charged with falsely reporting bombs, explosives and weapons of mass destruction and was held in Broward County Jail.

The court placed Verbitsky on bail of $10,000 (about 12 million won) and ordered him to undergo a mental evaluation.

The Chicago Sun Times reported that Verbitsky deposited bail (usually 10% of the set bail amount) after one day of imprisonment and was released and awaiting trial.

The family hysterically made false claims related to Verbitski's behavior, fearing that his son would miss school.
