A "high-level mission" will be sent to Guinea on Thursday "to discuss with the new authorities" and, at the end of this mission of an unspecified duration, ECOWAS will reconsider its positions, he said.

The leaders of the ECOWAS "demanded respect for the physical integrity of President Alpha Condé", filed by the putschists on Sunday, his "immediate release" as well as that of all those arrested.

They demand that the military "put in place a process which will allow a return to normal constitutional order to be achieved very quickly," said Alpha Barry.
