At a cost of 78 million dirhams

Connecting a natural gas network to Al Bataeh and Al Shunouf suburbs in Sharjah

Saeed Al-Suwaidi: “The project includes extending the natural gas pipeline to Al-Bataeh area in 6 phases.”

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, approved the connection of the natural gas network to the Al-Bataeh area and Al-Shenouf suburb, at a total cost of 78 million and 490 thousand dirhams.

Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, said that the project includes extending the natural gas pipeline to Al-Bataeh area in six phases at a cost of 21 million and 890 thousand dirhams and a length of more than 200 km. The entire project will be completed within three years.

He explained that the Al-Shenouf suburb, which is the largest residential suburb in the emirate and consists of 28 areas, the natural gas network will be extended to a length of 640 km and at a cost of 65 million and 600,000 dirhams in stages, so that the first phase begins as soon as the competent authorities finish settling the lands by extending the network to the areas of Al-Shenouf 1 And 2, 3 and 5 as a first stage, then followed by the following stages after the completion of the settlement of the lands, and according to the percentage of completion of buildings in these areas.

Al-Suwaidi confirmed that the authority will work to implement the natural gas network according to the best specifications, stressing that the authority's strategy and objectives are to deliver natural gas to all regions.

He explained that in implementation of the vision and directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, the employment of 147 citizens in various engineering, technical and administrative disciplines has been completed since the beginning of this year. With the Department of Human Resources in Sharjah, 44 citizens have been employed in administrative positions from university graduates and high school holders who are qualified and in accordance with the requirements and needs of the authority, and to work to strengthen the various departments of the authority and customer service offices with specialized national cadres.

Al Suwaidi praised the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and his interest in employing citizens, qualifying national cadres and training them to assume responsibility and provide a decent life for them and their families.
