A hairdresser lures a woman and assaults her under duress

The Dubai Criminal Court sentenced to 15 years in prison, followed by deportation, against an (Arab) hairdresser who was convicted of kidnapping a European woman after luring her with a trick. Threatening to kill her.

Investigations by the Public Prosecution stated that the incident began on the morning of last December 4, while the victim was inside a restaurant in JLT. He also convinced her that he could find a job for her in a salon with a good salary.

The victim said in the prosecution's investigations, that she trusted him after his insistence on her and agreed to accompany him to the room in which he resides in a shared residence, and when they arrived, he closed the door on them, and began offering her a set of cosmetics, then suddenly pushed her on the bed, which angered her and she screamed at him. Demanding to stop, he said to her: “Shut your mouth or I will kill you.” He pushed her again when she tried to get up, and she was afraid of him and retreated and did not scream, and he assaulted her under duress despite her repeated resistance.

She added that she screamed when she heard the voice of a person outside, and bit the finger of the accused's hand, causing a wound, and abrasions to his neck after she scratched it with her nails.

The accused confessed in the arrest warrants and police inferences that he had committed the crimes of kidnapping and sexually assaulting the victim, but he retracted his statements in the Public Prosecution investigations, claiming that the woman went with him of her own free will.

While the building guard testified in the investigations of the Public Prosecution that he saw the accused enter with the victim into the building, and after about two hours the woman came out collapsed and crying.

The defendant’s neighbor in the same apartment stated that he was sleeping when he heard the sound of a woman screaming to the accused, “Leave me.” Then he heard him say to her, “Leave,” and later heard her screaming after she left: “Leave me and do not follow me.”

For its part, the Criminal Court confirmed that it was reassured by the victim's statements about her being deceived by the accused into accompanying him to his home, in order to achieve the crime of kidnapping using fraudulent methods, and sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

The accused deluded the woman that her hair was damaged and that he had preparations to treat it.
