WP: The White House has asked the US Congress for funds to resettle the Afghans

The White House's Office of Management and Budget has submitted an urgent request to lawmakers.

As noted, the US administration expects to receive $ 6.4 billion to finance the ongoing efforts to resettle Afghan refugees.

According to the newspaper, $ 14 billion has been requested for reconstruction work after various natural disasters in the country.

Another $ 10 billion is required to repair the damage caused by Hurricane Ida.

Earlier, the US State Department named the number of Afghans that the United States accepted on its territory after evacuating from Kabul and conducting appropriate verification procedures abroad.
