The Sverdlovsk District Court of Krasnoyarsk sentenced businessman Anatoly Bykov, who was found guilty of organizing a double murder by the jury, to 13 years in prison.

This was reported to RT in the management of the judicial department in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Revenge for the explosion

According to the investigation, in 1994 Bykov had a conflict with two members of the criminal group headed by him, Alexander Naumov and Kirill Voitenko, over the distribution of income from joint activities.

In June of the same year, an attempt was made on the businessman's life - his car was blown up near the building of the concert and dance hall on the Predmostnaya Square in the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Bykov suspected competitors of the car bombing and ordered the crime boss Vladimir Tatarenkov to eliminate them.

"On July 24, 1994, in the area of house number 9 on Koltsevaya Street in the city of Krasnoyarsk, Naumov and Voitenko were killed by shots from a Kalashnikov assault rifle and a Tulsky Tokarev pistol by members of Tatarenkov's gang," says the IC in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

In July 2012, the court found Vladimir Tatarenkov guilty of committing this crime and sentenced him to 13.5 years in prison.

One of the killers of his gang, Sergei Bakurov, was sentenced to life in prison.

The second alleged performer, Vladimir Chuchkov, is still on the wanted list.

However, then the convicted bandits did not tell the investigation who was the real customer of the murder, because, as noted in the Investigative Committee, they hoped for the support of Bykov.

"They must be killed"

Anatoly Bykov headed the board of directors of the Krasnoyarsk aluminum smelter in the mid-1990s, was actively involved in politics and was several times elected as a deputy to the legislative assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

At the same time, according to media reports, Bykov was the most influential person in the underworld of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where he was known under the nicknames "Tolya-Byk" and "Celentano".

He had problems with the law more than once.

So, in 2000-2002, he was in jail on the case of organizing an assassination attempt and illegal arms trafficking, as a result of which he received a suspended sentence.

In May 2020, Tatarenkov and Bakurov decided to testify against Anatoly Bykov.

“On June 17, 1994, Anatoly Petrovich Bykov phoned me at home, said that an attempt had been made on his life, and asked to come.

I took Chuchkov, Bakurov and Kachurin with me.

We arrived in the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Anatoly Petrovich said that the attempt was organized by Naumov and Voitenko and that they should be killed.

We agreed.

Subsequently, on July 24, 1994, Bakurov and Chuchkov killed Naumov and Voitenko.

This murder was organized by Anatoly Petrovich Bykov, as he told us: "They must be killed."

His people provided us with an apartment for living at the time of the murder, then we hid in the houses provided to them, ”said Vladimir Tatarenkov at a confrontation with a businessman.

Bykov was charged under nos.

"D", "z", "n" art.

102 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR.

And in January 2021, the criminal case was sent for jury consideration to the Sverdlovsk District Court of the city of Krasnoyarsk.

The jury announced their verdict last week.

They found Bykov guilty of a committed act and did not deserve leniency, the court's website notes.

On September 7, the court of the Sverdlovsk region of Krasnoyarsk, based on the verdict of the jury, sentenced Bykov to 13 years in prison.

Representatives of the regional prosecutor's office told the media that the supervisory charge was satisfied with the verdict and would not appeal against it.

In turn, the businessman's lawyer Alexei Prokhorov told reporters that the defense would appeal the verdict.

“In this case, the norms of the criminal procedure legislation were substantially violated - on the provision of evidence for the defense, on asking questions to witnesses.

The court actually acted as the second state prosecutor.

All this will be the basis for appealing against the verdict, ”the TASS lawyer is quoted as saying.

At the same time, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported that there are now several more criminal cases against Bykov under the following articles: incitement to commit murder for hire, tax evasion of an individual on an especially large scale and organization of a criminal community or participation in him.
