Shangshaozhai Village, Liping County, Dong Township, Guizhou Province, is surrounded by mountains and rivers, and the Bazhou River passes by the village.

The front of the stockade is idyllic with verdant trees, small bridges and flowing water, bamboo forests are swaying, and the back of the stockade is a lush virgin forest.

In late December 1934, when the Red Army passed through here, the original wooden bridge on the Bazhou River was demolished by the Kuomintang warlords who fled after hearing the news.

In order to allow the Red Army to cross the river smoothly, the villagers of Shangshaozhai Village braved the severe cold, lit torches, and carried bed boards and door panels from their homes to build bridges with the Red Army overnight.

In the early morning of the next day, the officers and soldiers of the Red Army marched on this wooden bridge.

Later, this bridge was called the "Red Army Bridge".

Today, a "New Red Army Bridge" capable of running cars has been built 200 meters downstream of the wooden bridge.

The two bridges traverse more than 80 years of history and face each other across the water. The same line is the hope they bring, one is the hope of victory, and the other is the hope of prosperity.
