A judicial investigation was opened for "attempted voluntary homicide" in Metz (Moselle), after a serious incident which occurred Saturday between two teenagers, reports Lorraine Actu.

A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured, stabbed in the back, during a brawl.

The victim had been transported in serious condition to Nancy hospital but his life is not in danger.

A "futile motive"

A 12-year-old suspect went to the police station with his parents.

According to Metz public prosecutor Christian Mercuri, interviewed by

Le Figaro

, a “futile reason” would be at the origin of the fight between the two teenagers.

But the injured boy has yet to be heard by investigators.

His comrade, who allegedly admitted the facts to the police, was brought before a juvenile judge.

He was then "placed in an educational establishment for the judicial protection of young people (PJJ) in the Grand Est region", specifies the prosecutor at Lorraine Actu.

He should stay there six months as part of a judicial educational investigation measure that will assess the situation of the minor.
