“Pesternikov was serving a 10-year sentence in correctional colony No. 44 in the Kemerovo region, where he proved himself to be negative,” law enforcement officials told TASS.

It is noted that the man was released from the colony in April 2019, administrative supervision was established against him, which he violated twice.

Earlier it was reported that the suspect in the murder of two girls in Kiselyovsk was previously convicted of crimes against the sexual integrity of children.

Two ten-year-old schoolgirls - Ulyana Degtyar and Anastasia Fesler - disappeared on September 6.

They did not return home after school.

The next day, their bodies were found in an abandoned house.
