Government agencies in the country have warned of electronic attempts that they have recently spotted, using their names and slogans to defraud individuals through fake electronic links, while "Emirates Today" has monitored the spread of several accounts on social networking sites that use the slogans and names of government agencies and national companies to defraud individuals by promoting fake jobs with salaries. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship warned its customers not to fall victim to fake e-mails, as it called on customers to verify the reliability of e-mails received by them in the name of the authority, which must carry the government domain, (ica.gov.ae), in order to avoid any suspicious electronic attempts. It aims to harm users through fake links attributed to the authority.

The Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, through its accounts recently, also published a warning in which it stated that it had recently spotted fraud attempts carried out by people online under the name of the Abu Dhabi Department of Health by asking the public to provide information on their bank accounts and credit cards, claiming that they are to recover some funds.

Abu Dhabi Police warned of links to fraudulent electronic websites that include small text messages that simulate government institutions, and that trap the public and offer them fake temptations with advantages to cooperate with government agencies through their websites.

It warned of the renewed deceptive methods of fraudsters, luring victims in misleading ways, and defrauding them after obtaining information related to their bank accounts and reusing that data again, which allows withdrawals of financial balances.

And it appealed to the public not to share their confidential information with anyone, including account or bank card information, online banking passwords, ATM PINs, security number (CCV) or password, explaining that bank employees and banks do not They never ask for such information.

It called on the public, in the event of detecting a fraud, to go to the nearest police station and report any calls received by unknown persons asking them to update their banking data, and to contact the security service number 8002626 or by sending a text message 2828 in order to enhance its security efforts in the face of these fraudulent methods and to protect the community from its risks.
