Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi hold a foreign ministerial meeting in Seoul on the 15th.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today (7th) that Director Wang Yi will visit Seoul on the 14th and 15th at the invitation of Korea.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expected the summit to be an important opportunity to strengthen high-level communication between the two countries and to seek future-oriented bilateral relations, mutual substantive cooperation, and friendly sentiment ahead of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and China.

The two Ministers are expected to discuss the issue of restarting the peace process on the Korean Peninsula, including ways to resume the stalled dialogue on denuclearization between the US and North Korea.

The Korea-China Foreign Ministers' Meeting is the first in five months since Minister Chung's visit to Xiamen, Fujian Province, China in April, and Wang Yi's visit to Korea is the first in about 10 months since November last year.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Korea-China Humanities Exchange Promotion Committee will also be held in connection with the promotion of the '2021-2022 Year of Cultural Exchanges between Korea and China' on the occasion of Director Wang Yi's visit to Korea.
