A man who made it to the Guinness Book of World Records by performing the core exercise 'plank' pose for a whopping 9 hours and 30 minutes is becoming a hot topic.

On the 4th local time, Guinness World Records set a world record in Adelaide, Australia last month, when Australian man Daniel Scally challenged him to hold out for a long time in the plank position.

Plank is a posture that makes the body in a straight line from the shoulder to the ankle while lying face down.

It looks simple, but it requires a lot of muscle strength, so it is known as a movement that an average person cannot sustain for even a few minutes.

Scally lasted a whopping 9:30 minutes and 1 second in a plank position, breaking the world record of 8 hours 15 minutes and 15 seconds set by former US Marine George Hood in February of last year.

He is wearing a compression band on his left arm, where CRPS symptoms are frequent.

Even more surprising is that Mr. Scally is a patient with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a rare and excruciatingly painful condition.

CRPS is a disease of the sympathetic nervous system, and patients are known to experience extreme pain even when the wind blows.

Mr. Scally suffered from CRPS when he was 12 years old, with frequent burning pains after he injured his left arm. Prior to this challenge, he wore a compression band on his left arm to reduce pain.

“I experienced constant pain from head to toe,” said Scally about the challenge.

But, he said, he knows how to overcome pain. "After enduring pain, there is greater happiness and pleasure.

He also said, "I challenged the Guinness World Records to raise awareness about CRPS and to show that there are many people around the world suffering from CRPS," he said, touching many people.

"I wanted to prove that whatever the circumstances, whatever the pain, if you believe you can do it, you can do it," said Scally, who has been training steadily for several months, doing push-ups and sit-ups to challenge the Guinness Plank record. He expressed his feelings.

Netizens commented, "I was proud even after only two minutes, but seeing Scally makes me feel ashamed", " He rewritten history. It's a legend."

This is a 'news pick'.
