Al Jazeera Net

- At a time when Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree announced the targeting of vital Saudi facilities, Swedish diplomat Hans Grundberg was saying, on the first day of his assignment as the fourth UN envoy to Yemen, that he would do everything in his power to contribute to achieving peace.

These are the most violent attacks launched by the Houthis on Saudi Arabia since last May, and Grundberg pledged that he would work relentlessly in pursuit of a ceasefire, and said in a recorded speech to the Yemenis that he would remind all concerned of their "shared responsibility towards Yemen's future."

8 drones, Sammad 3 and Dhul-Fiqar ballistics, demolished the most important Saudi oil complex (Ras al-Tanura) in the Dammam region, eastern Saudi Arabia.

But the intersections of the war and its complexities and what it produced over 6 years may be a heavy burden, so Grundberg appears aware of its size, saying that he accepts responsibility with full awareness of the size of the task and the complexities of the situation and challenges, and looks forward to frank and serious interactions with Yemeni, regional and international counterparts.

How beautiful to sleep in a brave homeland. Who would believe that with the failed Houthi attack today, the number of missiles launched by the Houthis rose to 300, and the number of drones reached more than 400 drones, all of which were thwarted by our heroes in the past short period.

I challenge any country facing such targeting

Reply to Saudi Arabia

The start of the mission of the new UN envoy - who previously held the position of European Union ambassador to Yemen - coincided with a military escalation by the Houthis, as they launched their fiercest attacks towards the city of Marib, while their drones towards Saudi Arabia became a daily occurrence.

Yesterday, the Saudi Ministry of Defense said that its air defenses intercepted a ballistic missile, and that the interception process caused shrapnel to scatter over a neighborhood in the city of Dammam, which resulted in the injury of a child and a girl, and 14 residential houses were lightly damaged.

🚀 Houthi missile message to Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦: (Let's take Marib unless we strike your cities, airports and Aramco).

The problem is that when the kingdom submits to this equation, the Houthi will not stop at Marib, nor in northern Yemen, nor even on the international borders. The Houthi is a cancer that will continue to expand - without borders - and will not stop until it is eradicated.

But a member of the Ansar Allah group (Houthis) Ali al-Qahoum considered that what is taking place in a battle with Saudi Arabia has nothing to do with the start of the new envoy's duties, and that it is related to what he described as "the continuous Saudi aggression against our country for 6 years" and the coalition's closure of Yemeni airports and ports.

Al-Qahoum explained - in an interview with Al-Jazeera Net - that the coalition intensified its air raids recently, which necessitated a response from the Houthis on Saudi territory, saying, "This is our natural right to repel any aggression."

After they were trampled and their noses stuck on the fronts of #Yemen.. this is how the heroes dealt with the scrap of #Houthi before it reached the civilians.

Our forces are on the lookout for them.. New clips 👇

The warplanes intensified their air strikes on Houthi sites in Marib, and the commander of the third military region of the government forces, Major General Mansour Thawabah, told Al Jazeera Net that the raids launched by the Saudi-Emirati coalition fighters were decisive in preventing the Houthis from advancing towards the city of Marib, which contains oil and gas wells and the last stronghold of the government to the north. country.

In response, the spokesman for the Houthi group, Muhammad Abdul Salam, in a tweet on Twitter, threatened Saudi Arabia with attacks, which he described as the largest and most extensive.

They also insist on continuing their aggression and siege, for our Yemeni people continue to defend themselves, and we congratulate the armed forces for the deterrence operations they carry out that extend to the depths of the countries of aggression, and they are legitimate operations that come in compliance with the defensive position of the besieged and abused Yemeni people, which, God willing, will expand, grow and escalate

But the Yemeni government refuses to comment on the situation, and Prime Minister Maeen Abdul-Malik only said during his meeting with the French ambassador that the continued military escalation by the Houthis is an additional indication that they are proceeding with their war, and that they have not yielded to the option of peace, according to what was quoted by the Yemeni news agency Saba.

As for Al-Qahoum, he stressed that the war is going on between the Yemenis and Saudi Arabia, and that the UN envoy should care about the humanitarian issue, and "look at what the Yemenis want, not what the International Quartet wants."

The International Quartet Committee on Yemen was established in June 2016 by the United States, Britain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and according to Qahoum, these countries have ambitions in Yemen.

A member of the Houthi Political Bureau indicated that his group is open to dialogue and does not have any disagreement with the Islah Party, the Transitional Council, or any political party.

He says that if the new UN envoy does not focus on humanitarian issues first, such as the opening of Sanaa airport and the port of Hodeidah, he will fail, indicating that the group adheres to separating the humanitarian and military file.

The former UN envoy, Martin Griffiths, was close to touching success in his duties by achieving a ceasefire agreement in Marib, in conjunction with the opening of Sanaa airport and the port of Aden and the cessation of Saudi raids, but the Houthis rejected this and stipulated that the cease-fire be a later stage.

Regarding the understandings between Riyadh and Tehran, which are accused of waging a proxy war in Yemen, Qahoum said that what is between Saudi Arabia and Iran remains a private matter, and that the group’s goal is clear, which is to end the Saudi project targeting Yemen entirely, he said.

fall cable

However, Abdul Ghani Al-Iryani, senior researcher at the Sana'a Center for Studies (Yemeni non-governmental), considered that the Houthi escalation is linked to the atmosphere of the Taliban movement's control of the city of Kabul, and he tells Al Jazeera Net that this is the most likely reason for the escalation of the Houthis in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

#Iran and the terrorist clique in Tehran in order to cover up its terrorist attack on #Dammam ordered its boy in Saada to fire missiles at #Najran

and #Jizan..to mix the missiles 🤷🏻 ♂️🤷🏻 ♂️

Al-Houthi does not have a ballistic missile of this range!!

He added, "This matter opened the Houthis' appetite for control of the land. It also raised the expectations of their bases and supporters, and it became necessary for them to step up and announce that they will regain control over all of Yemen."

According to Al-Eryani, the Houthis will go to resolve the battle on the ground and will not wait for the new UN envoy and the United Nations, so their escalation is not linked to Grundberg's start of his duties.

He believes that the success of the new UN envoy's mission is related to his ability to direct international efforts towards removing the obstacles that stand in the way of peace, most notably the unbalanced Security Council Resolution No. 2216, and dealing with the war economy, which makes the continuation of the war more profitable for the parties to the conflict than any peace agreement.
