[Explanation] In the start of the school season in September, Wu Shiqi from Taiwan packed up her luggage and bid farewell to her family. He set off from Shanghai to report to the Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University, officially starting his university life.

As a freshman in the 2021 grade, Wu Shiqi followed in the footsteps of her elder sister Wu Qianrong and her second sister Wu Yiting into Huaqiao University.

A family of three sisters "landed" to become alumni.

For the first time, I feel that college life is very fresh and novel.

Later, my sister will share some of her teachers, her classmates, senior sisters, seniors helping her, and then I will go to search for various information about Huaqiao University when choosing a school.

[Explanation] I often hear from my sisters that BGI has a variety of activities and diverse campus culture. Witnessing the growth and transformation of the two sisters, Wu Shiqi also yearned to apply for the Huaqiao University.

Among the three sisters of the Wu family, the eldest Wu Qianrong just graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Huaqiao University in July this year. She was uneasy about her younger sister, who accompanied her all the time and returned to her alma mater after two months.

When I arrived at BGI in my first year, it actually gave me a very Taiwanese feeling, because the buildings in Fujian, including some buildings on West Street, are actually very similar to Taiwan, including the familiar Minnan dialect.

[Commentary] Wu Qianrong said frankly that she was confused when she first entered China University, but she gradually built her self-confidence under the encouragement of her teacher, senior and senior sister.

During the school, Wu Qianrong also served as a member of the presidium of the student union, organizing and planning various cultural and sports exchange activities, and her excellent performance has earned her many honors.

Usually, she also shares the various activities she participated in at school to her circle of friends.

(Sister) They are all fascinated, including scholarships like I actually get a lot of them, so they feel that BGI is very special and very good in all aspects. Then how can my sister develop so well, and then learn.

Because I think that even my parents feel that after I went to college, I grew up a lot, which is a big change from the thinking or goals of high school.

[Explanation] For Wu Shiqi, who is about to enter school, Wu Qianrong, who has extensive experience, specially wrote a letter to remind her sister of various precautions.

Wu Qianrong, who has graduated, plans to go to the UK to study before returning to work in the mainland.

Wu Yiting is a senior student of the School of Tourism of Huaqiao University. After graduation, he wants to continue to study in the mainland. Wu Shiqi, who has just reported to the School of Journalism and Communication, also hopes to stay in the mainland TV station in the future.

Everyone has different options, but I will definitely stay in the mainland to develop, because I personally think that there can be more help to me in the mainland.

[Explanation] As one of the first universities in the mainland to admit Taiwanese students, Huaqiao University admitted 352 Taiwanese students this year.

Wu Qianrong believes that Taiwanese youths coming to the mainland to study is a good way for cross-strait youth exchanges.

Because of exchanges, we will be able to better understand the other person, including the culture of the mainland, the culture of the region, or the mainland students, so this is actually a good opportunity to come to the mainland to study.

[Commentary] The three sisters Wu Qianrong have taken root in their ancestral homeland in mainland China. The Chinese twin sisters Zou Jing and Zou Qing from the Philippines also want to know their "roots". Their father is from Jiangxi and their mother is Filipino. They were born and raised in the Philippines. The twin sisters from elementary school to junior high school study Chinese in Chinese schools. In order to better understand their father’s hometown, they were also admitted to Huaqiao University this year.

I choose International Trade (major) because I see that China's economy is developing very fast, so I want to know why they are developing very fast.

I think I want to work in China, because I want to live here, because I have been in the Philippines, just want to know more about Chinese culture, and want to see relatives here.

[Explanation] It is understood that Huaqiao University has admitted 3358 overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and foreign students from 58 countries and regions, accounting for about 38% of the total number of undergraduate freshmen.
