In two weeks, voters will decide between the candidates for the environmentalist primary.

They are five in the running: Delphine Batho, Jean-Marc Governatori, Eric Piolle, Yannick Jadot and Sandrine Rousseaux.

Five competitors who participated this Sunday, September 5 on France Inter in the first of their three debates from here to the first round.

An exercise with which they did not necessarily come out very satisfied.

Could we talk about ecology

?

“It's been almost an hour since the debate began and Delphine Batho expresses a frustration apparently fairly shared.

Security, secularism, personal bickering: the topics discussed seem chosen to create clash.

However, the candidates are not determined to play this game, as Yannick Jadot expresses: "

I will not participate in damaging us collectively in a primary where murderous sentences would take over.

"

Question of political identity

Except that it is very difficult to understand the differences: all the candidates tend to agree on themes such as nuclear power, the sobriety of consumption patterns or support for less intensive agriculture.

And it is of course on political identity that the debate is played out, like this sentence of Jean-Marc Governatori: “

For thirty years, political ecology in France has suffered a strain.

This ball is the left.

The time has come for ecology at the center.

 "

The Nice entrepreneur is indeed far from the State guarantor of the creation of a million and a half jobs in the sustainable economy defended by Eric Piolle or of the ecofeminist project of Sandrine Rousseaux: “

When I hear my colleague Jean-Marc Governatori, I tell myself that there is still a long way to go.

The ecological question and the societal and social question are intimately linked.

This is what I wear in this primary.

"

Primary voters will have two new debates, Wednesday and Friday, to see things more clearly, before registration closes on Sunday.
