In this autumn's prime ministerial vote, the Social Democrats need support from both the Center Party and the Green Party to get their candidate through.

In January 2019, the Center Party released Stefan Löfven as Prime Minister.

Two demands from the Center Party in the January agreement were changed rules for beach protection and strengthened ownership for forest owners.

Included in the January agreement was also the Green Party, which instead wants to see increased protection of the forest.

"Sweden's Amazon"

- This is about Sweden's Amazon and it is worth protecting.

We have a need to protect valuable nature in order to maintain species richness, says Minister of the Environment Per Bolund to SVT's Agenda.

The Center Party describes the ownership of the forest as an interest that differs between rural and metropolitan areas.

They compare the forest to a condominium.

- Then the state could come in and say “this room, you must not use it because we have decided that it should be protected.

We're not going to charge you for that either.

Now it's just like that ", says center-right Member of Parliament Peter Helander.

"The landowners' voice in the Riksdag"

- It is clear that the Center Party is the landowners' voice in the Riksdag, while we think of the public interest.

You should be able to continue to be a forest owner.

We would like to see a solution where state-owned Svea forest enters and exchanges land with these forest owners.

That way you look after everyone's interests, says Per Bolund.

In an interview with DN, Annie Lööf (C) stuck to the ultimatum about changing the rules regarding beach protection.

Bolund also hopes to be able to agree on this issue with both the Center Party and the Social Democrats:

- The government consists of two parties.

In this case, we are three parties that must agree.

We're starting conversations.

I am convinced that it is possible to find a common path.

But you have to remember that our view on the issue is also part of the agreement, says Per Bolund.

The heart issues in the budget negotiations

This autumn, a new budget will be presented.

Both the Center Party's and the Green Party's support is required for it to go through.

Bolund does not currently believe that the Green Party will have to abandon any of its heart issues in favor of a budget.

Nor does he think the Green Party will leave the government in protest to get its demands passed.

- The Green Party is part of the government.

As Minister of the Environment, I will have the public interest in mind.

Of course, we will have a strong budget with many efforts for nature, says Per Bolund to SVT's Agenda.
