People's Power, who had repeatedly debated the 'adverse selection prevention clause' in the presidential election poll, concluded last night (5th) night at the end of the marathon meeting to not include this clause. Instead, we decided to increase the proportion of party members voting in the first cut-off and ask about the competitiveness of the final round in the main competition to select the final candidates.

People's Power Election Commission concluded last night after a nearly seven-hour marathon meeting that it would not include the clause on the prevention of adverse selection, that is, the clause that removes passport supporters from the primary election polls.

Instead, it was decided to reflect 20% of party members' votes in the first cutoff on the 15th, which was planned to be held with 100% of the public opinion poll.

In addition, in the main election poll for the election of the final candidate, which consists of 50% of party member votes and 50% of public opinion polls, we decided to ask about our competitiveness in the finals with the ruling party candidates.

[Jung Hong-won / Chairman of the People's Power Election Commission: Do not discuss in terms of adverse selection issues, but how competitive the candidates are in the finals from different angles... .]

It is interpreted that the National Election Commission came up with a compromise plan in a situation where the conflict between candidates over the anti-selection clause was severe.

Previously, the meeting of candidates for the primary election held just before the National Election Commission meeting became a half-event as four candidates, Jun-pyo Hong, Seung-min Yoo, Tae-kyung Ha, and Sang-soo Ahn, who oppose the introduction of the anti-selection clause, did not attend.

[Lee Jun-seok / Representative of People's Power: I am very concerned about the act of not attending the party's official events because there are some dissatisfaction with the operation of the Election Commission... .]

Also, just before the start of the meeting, Chairman Chung Hong-won, the Election Commissioner, expressed his resignation by expressing his concerns about conflicts within the party.
