In the autumn of 2019, the trial was thus held in Ångermanland District Court against Daniel Kindberg and the two co-defendants.

All three were sentenced to prison for serious financial crime.

• Daniel Kindberg was sentenced to three years in prison for, among other things, a serious accounting offense, gross infidelity against a principal on three counts and aiding and abetting infidelity against a principal, a felony.

• An entrepreneur from Sollefteå, an old friend of Kindberg, was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for, among other things, aiding and abetting infidelity against the principal in four cases (two of which were classified as serious crimes), serious tax crimes and serious accounting crimes.

• The so-called Peabman was sentenced to two years in prison for infidelity to the principal and aiding and abetting gross infidelity against the principal on several counts.

High amounts of damages

The three were also sentenced to jointly and severally pay damages of SEK 9.2 million to Östersundshem and SEK 1.5 million to Fältjägaren 7 AB.

Kindberg and the Sollefteå entrepreneur must also jointly and severally pay an additional 2.9 million to Fältjägaren 7.

In addition, a five-year ban on business for the latter two was also imposed, if the verdict were to finally become final.

According to the prosecution, this is a carefully considered criminal plan that aims to channel millions of kronor into Östersunds Fotbollsklubb, where Kindberg was previously chairman, through untrue invoices to both Östersundshem - where Daniel Kindberg was CEO at the time - and Fältjägaren 7 (construction company Peab).

Eight-digit amounts

In total, these are eight-digit amounts.

Östersundshem's and Fältjägaren 7's receivables in the case total around 16.5 million.

The verdict was appealed by both the convicts and the prosecution.

Starting on Tuesday, the Court of Appeal will try the case for a total of 15 trial days.

The main hearing will end in early October, and the verdict in the case will come later this autumn.
