Local sources told Al-Jazeera that the neighborhoods of the besieged city of Daraa have witnessed calm since the announcement of a ceasefire agreement between the tribes of Daraa and the Syrian regime under Russian auspices two days ago, while the regime's artillery intensifies its bombardment in the north of the country.

The sources added that the implementation of the terms of the agreement is underway between the two parties, but the roads have not been opened between the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad and the regime-controlled areas.

Yesterday, Wednesday, the Russian military police entered the neighborhoods of the Syrian city of Daraa, as part of a 3-day ceasefire agreement.

The Negotiations Committee on behalf of the people of Daraa said - in a statement - that the agreement with the regime regarding the besieged neighborhoods in the city was made with the guarantee of the Russian side, and provides for an immediate ceasefire, the entry of a Russian military police patrol and its stationing in Daraa al-Balad, in addition to the lifting of the siege and the entry of aid into the neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad. .

The agreement also included working to release detainees, clarifying the fate of the missing, as well as deploying 4 security points for the regime, and opening centers for the so-called "settlement of situations" for a specific number of Daraa's youth.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that it had documented the killing of 94 civilians, including 32 children, in Syria last August.

The network stated that Daraa governorate topped the number of civilian casualties killed by the Syrian regime during the past month.

The regime forces and their affiliated militias have imposed a siege on the Daraa al-Balad area since last June 25, after the opposition refused to hand over light weapons, as it was in violation of an agreement brokered by Russia in 2018, which stipulated the handing over of heavy and medium weapons.

In the north, Al-Jazeera correspondent in Syria reported the killing of a woman and the injury of a number of civilians as a result of artillery shelling by the regime forces on the town of Frika in the Jisr al-Shughur area in Idlib countryside.

The reporter added that the regime forces bombed the towns of "Mohambel, Al-Laj, Qastun, and Tal Awar", in the Idlib and Hama countryside.

The reporter quoted opposition sources as saying that the Turkish forces in Idlib bombed with artillery the positions of the Syrian regime forces in the Al-Jab Al-Ahmar area, in the Hama countryside.

For their part, the opposition factions said that they bombed sites of the Syrian regime forces in "Jorin" and "Al-Jaid", in the western countryside of Hama.
