The idea came from Daniel, who first imagined a half Vättern round.

However, his teammate, life partner and locomotive on the tandem bike, Lisa, thought they would run the whole, long race.

- Lisa has made a heroic effort, which has both guided us, guided us and taken an enormous responsibility on her shoulders, says Daniel Belge.

"Nice way to go"

Almost the entire race was completed when we met them at the depot in Sjöparken in Askersund.

There was also Annika Alenfelt from Ydre, who loaded with fruit before the last leg towards the finish in Motala.

On this her fifth Vättern round, now waited, among other things, almost four kilometers uphill towards Zinkgruvan.

- I think it will be very difficult.

But at the same time exciting.

It should be a very nice road to go on.

You avoid the traffic that was previously on highway 50.

Less car traffic and safer races

Safety was an argument when the track at the northern part of Lake Vättern was redrawn.

For the first time this year, the participants also cycled through Askersund itself.
