The student union ran an emergency room agency before, but it was closed down in 2016. Now it is needed again, according to the Umeå student union.

We act as an intermediary and become a guarantor for both the person who rents and the person who rents out to make it feel safer, says Gustav Svensson, chairman of the Umeå Student Union.

According to SFS, Sweden's united student unions, Umeå manages to offer students accommodation at some point during the semester.
Thus, Umeå is marked in yellow in SFS ranking again this year.
The places are marked as green, yellow or red and in order for a place to be marked green, accommodation must be offered within one month.
Skellefteå and most other smaller study places can do it.
- Especially the first two months during the semester, there is a lot of pressure in Umeå, says Gustav Svensson.
