In a press release, Johan Andersson (S), Member of Parliament from Motala, says that the investment means a lot to Östergötland.

For Östergötland, of course, we appreciate the canal itself, but it also means many jobs through all the tourists who come here in different ways to visit it and travel on it.
The investment is needed to meet the growing demand from visitors, says Johan Andersson (S), Member of Parliament in the press release.
The money will go to the long-standing refurbishment project of the Göta Canal.
