During Thursday and Friday, there was full activity at Kronan's recycling centers, as usual.

But the ramp closes on Sunday and last September, the submission of things for recycling will be stopped and the new recycling center will not open until sometime in December.

"Feels a little sad"

Ulla-Britt Saxevall is not entirely satisfied with the development.

- It feels a little sad.

Kronan is a cozy area to get to and it is close to the city.

In addition, it feels like a far too long time before you can hand in things for recycling in the new Risslan facility, she says.

Håkan Holmlund from Bensbyn agrees.

- I think Risslan will be a nice facility with a good layout, but if you do not have resources in the form of a car until December, it can be a problem when you go to the recycling centers in Antnäs, Sunderbyn or Råneå.

Then maybe you collect or you throw the stuff in the woods, as some usually do, he says.

"Can be a problem"

Asraf Al Besani feels some concern about the future of recycling in Luleå.

- It feels like there will be problems at least until the new facility opens.

It is important that the municipality makes it as easy as possible for us to throw rubbish and recycle things and I do not think this is an example of that, he says and continues:

- I think we will see more rubbish in the forest and next to the roads.
