Gang of shops arrested in Dubai

The Dubai Criminal Court issued a general prison sentence and a fine against three unemployed (Asian) aged 21 to 29, two of them in attendance and the third in absentia for being in quarantine during the ruling session, after it was proven that they planned to rob the owners and pioneers of shops in the Hor Al Anz area. However, they fell into the hands of the Dubai Police and referred them to the Public Prosecution, which directed them to commit the felony of theft and coercion after they stole 2,000 dirhams from an employee in a store.

The victim said in the investigations of the Public Prosecution that he was about to close the shop, so he was surprised by three people who attacked him, beat him and stole 2,000 dirhams from him and fled, pointing out that he was subjected to varying injuries, one of which was in the head, underwent a medical examination and obtained a report of the injuries he sustained.

For his part, a witness from Dubai Police stated that a report was received of a person being attacked in the Hor Al Anz area and forcibly robbed by three people, so he moved to the site without the victim's statements.

He added that a research and investigation team was formed to find out the identity of the accused, especially in light of receiving more than one report of similar thefts, until it was inferred that the three accused were involved in these crimes.

He referred to the arrest of the first and second defendants first, and the first admitted that he planned with his two partners to rob the shops, and on the day of the incident they saw the victim closing the shop, so they quickly went to him and beat him, then stole 2000 dirhams from him and fled.

He explained that a few days later, the third suspect in the incident was arrested and referred to the Public Prosecution after it was found that he is wanted in other similar cases.

The Public Prosecution charged the accused with committing the felony of theft under duress and identified the victims in the diagnostic queue.
