In the early morning of September 3, it was drizzling in Shenyang in early autumn.

At the gate of the cemetery of the Martyrs to Resisting US Aid Korea, some people spontaneously rushed to participate in the burial ceremony of the eighth batch of the remains of the Chinese People's Volunteers in South Korea, to send the heroic spirits their last journey.

In the cemetery, the monument inscribed with "the immortal heroes of the war to resist the US and Aid Korea" stands tall and tall.

The burial ceremony of the day was held in the sunken memorial square in the cemetery.

In the center of the square, a sculpture with the theme of heroes like a mountain and praying for peace stands quietly. Nine flower baskets are placed in an arc in front of the sculpture. The ribbon of the flower baskets says "The Chinese People's Volunteers Martyrs will be immortal".

On the periphery of the square, under the ring-shaped martyrs' famous wall, garlands made of yellow and white chrysanthemums are placed.

At 10 o'clock in the morning, along with the tactful and low-returning "Song of Missing", soldiers of ceremonies escorted the coffins of volunteer martyrs into the scene slowly. The coffins of each volunteer martyr were covered with a five-star red flag.

After the coffin settled down on the table, the audience played and sang the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.

Sun Shaocheng, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of China, delivered a funeral memorial to volunteer martyrs on the same day.

Sun Shaocheng commented on the feats of the volunteer martyrs with "sweeping the prestige for the fourth generation and revitalizing the people for a hundred years", and expressed his longing for the volunteer martyrs with "the despair of the flesh and blood, the people of the country are full of hope".

Sun Shaocheng said at the end of the sacrificial essay, "The return of the soul is to oppose the hometown. The return of the soul will never be hurt!"

Afterwards, all the staff bowed three times to the coffin of the volunteer martyrs, and 27 salutes fired 12 shots to pay their lofty respect to the heroes.

Afterwards, the soldiers lifted the coffin of the volunteer martyrs, walked around the square for half a week, and walked slowly towards the burial palace.

At this time, "Missing Song" sounded again.

On September 3, the eighth batch of Chinese People's Volunteers' remains buried in South Korea was held at the Shenyang Anti-US Aid Korea Martyrs Cemetery. 109 volunteers who died in a foreign country after fighting in a foreign country rested on the land of the motherland after more than 70 years.

All the staff stared at the coffin of the martyrs, and silently bid farewell to the heroes.

After the martyrs' coffins left their sight, the people who participated in the ceremony lined up in an orderly manner, walked around slowly, and paid homage to the famous wall of martyrs.

The entire ceremony lasted less than 30 minutes, but the 109 volunteer martyrs who were buried that day waited a long 70 years for this.

Since 1950, they have successively embarked on the Korean battlefield, and after a bloody battle, they won a great victory in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

Unfortunately, they sacrificed in a foreign land.

However, the motherland has not forgotten, the people have not forgotten.

Since 2014, China and South Korea have launched a joint search, excavation, and identification of the remains of Chinese People’s Volunteers in South Korea.

So far, the two sides have carried out the handover of remains for eight consecutive years.

As of September 3, a total of 825 martyrs have returned home for burial.

It has become the common wish of all Chinese to welcome the heroes back home.

The annual "Hero Return" has become an opportunity for the whole nation to cherish the memory of the martyrs.

On the 3rd, the message boards set up outside the cemetery were filled with handwritten message cards from all walks of life.

A person who signed the name "Veterans of the Tibet Military Region" left a message: "The altitude of 5,000 meters stands upright and the border guards are patrolling on the road. The lack of oxygen does not lack the spirit, and the mission is higher than life. Great rivers and mountains, we will continue to guard."

The mountains and rivers are fine, please rest in peace!
