"The UN resumes humanitarian flights, operated by WFP, to allow 160 humanitarian organizations to continue their activities to save lives in Afghan provinces," TASS quotes the words of the spokesman for the Secretary General of the World Organization Stefan Dujarrick.

He noted that currently, passenger flights connect the Pakistani capital Islamabad with the Afghan cities of Mazar-i-Sharif and Kandahar.

Dujarrik also said that the ongoing fighting in the Panjshir Gorge is leading to a worsening of the difficult humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
