The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, is in Mexico to gather support in his international battle against the group that brings together the Latin American radical left and which includes, among others, former Spanish president José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Minister Irene Montero, Lula da Silva, Rafael Correa and Evo Morales.

Abascal has landed in the last hours and has presented his initiative of the Madrid Charter in the Senate of Mexico.

Senator

Julen Rementería

, coordinator of the parliamentary group of the National Action Party (PAN), has been the host of the event, in which different senators and congressmen from both the PAN and the PRI, the two main parties of the opposition the Mexican president, Manuel López Obrador.

The Madrid Charter aspires to become a response to the São Paulo Forum and the Puebla Group, a coalition of parties founded in 1990 by Fidel Castro and Lula da Silva that, according to Vox, "has been decisive for the rise of the extreme left in Latin America ". Among its founders are Rafael Correa,

José Mújica

, Evo Morales, Irene Montero, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and

Alberto Fernández

.

During the act in the Mexican Senate, the PAN senators Julen Rementería,

Alejandra Reynoso

,

Martha Márquez

,

Lilly Téllez

and

Roberto Moya

;

the deputies of this same party

América Rangel

and

Raúl Torres

;

as well as the deputy of the PRI and vice coordinator of the group

Manuel Añorve Baños

.

Of the 25 PAN senators, 15 have supported the Dissent initiative.

Likewise, two local and one federal deputies have signed the Madrid Charter.

International support

There are already more than 8,000 signatures adhering to this initiative in which the Vox foundation, Disenso, has played a key role in its dissemination and in the search for support. Among the outstanding ones, the president of Fratelli d'Italia,

Georgia Meloni

, who leads the polls in her country; the French

Marion Meréchal

, who distanced herself from the postulates of her aunt and grandfather, the Le Pen family; Cuban dissidents, like

Zoé Valdés

, and Venezuelan opponents like

Antonio Ledezma

.

In this framework of struggle against the Puebla Group, a delegation from Vox also traveled to Ecuador to attend the inauguration of the president,

Guillermo Lasso

, where they held several meetings with the new Defense Minister,

Fernando Donoso

, or the former Vice President

Otto Sonnenholzner

, to add new signatories to the Madrid Charter. The interest that the initiative aroused in this country provoked harsh criticism from former President Rafael Correa (a member of the Puebla Group).

In its Madrid Letter, prepared by Dissent, Vox states: "A part of the region is kidnapped by totalitarian communist-inspired regimes, supported by drug trafficking and third countries. All of them, under the umbrella of the Cuban regime and initiatives such as the Forum São Paulo and the Puebla Group, who infiltrate the centers of power to impose their ideological agenda. "

"The advance of communism poses a serious threat to the prosperity and development of our nations, as well as to the freedoms and rights of our compatriots. The rule of law, the rule of law, the separation of powers, the freedom of expression and private property are essential elements that guarantee the proper functioning of our societies, so they must be specially protected against those who try to undermine them ".

"The future of the countries of the Iberosphere must be based on respect for democracy, human rights, pluralism, human dignity and justice", point out the signatories.
