It is a big shift that means benefits for both the patient and the healthcare, says Jonas Ekström, chief physician and digitalization manager within Region Västmanland.

The digital calls must be standardized so that different clinics and health centers must work in the same way and be able to easily complete tasks for the patient.

The region has procured the service so that company receives a finished file from the region, and the patient then receives the call to his approved, digital mailbox from the company.

Those patients who do not have a digital mailbox will receive the summons in letter form.

- The handling of summonses and appendices, with printing and enveloping, takes time for the care staff.

With the digitization of the summonses, we are removing these elements, comments Jonas Ekström.
