The president of Medef on Thursday asked for the stop of the health pass for shopping centers, in force in some departments for those of more than 20,000 square meters.

"We have a huge problem in shopping centers," said Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux on RMC / BFMTV.

"Not only is that -30%, -40% (of turnover) in shopping centers where there is a health pass, but since the French have not understood anything logically enough" at the limit of 20,000 square meters and with prefectural authorizations, all "shopping centers are at -15%" of turnover, he detailed.

"It hurts, it even hurts a lot," he said.

"I am going to ask the Prime Minister that the health pass on shopping centers be stopped," announced the president of the employers' organization before a meeting during the day with Jean Castex.

Several legal actions have been brought against the obligation of the health pass at the entrance of large shopping centers, but they are the subject of contradictory decisions according to the departments, further complicating the understanding of the measure.

Regarding the health pass in general, it must be "stopped as soon as possible, as soon as the pandemic figures which seem to be falling allow it", added Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux after having repeated that he was in favor of this constraint. , now scheduled to last until November 15, as long as it avoided a new confinement.
