02 September 2021 The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, has signed, pursuant to the provisions of art.

87 paragraph 11 of the Constitution, two decrees with which partial pardon was granted.



The decisions - recalls a press release from the Quirinale - take into account the opinion formulated by the Minister of Justice at the conclusion of the prescribed investigation.



In particular, the convicts against whom the partial pardon intervened are: Ambrogio Luca Crespi, sentenced to six years in prison for the crime of complicity in mafia-type association, for acts committed between 2010 and 2012, for which it was ordered a reduction of the sentence of one year and two months; Francesca Picilli, sentenced to ten years and six months in prison for the crime of manslaughter committed in 2012, for which a reduction of the sentence of four years was ordered.



As a result of the provisions of the Head of State - continues the note from the Quirinale - the interested parties will have a sentence of no more than four years of imprisonment to be served, a limit that allows the Supervisory Court to apply the institution of probation to the service. social (art. 47 of the penitentiary system).



In evaluating the requests for pardon presented in favor of the interested parties, the President of the Republic took into account the positive behavior of the condemned during their detention and the circumstance that the re-education process carried out up to now by the aforementioned could usefully continue - if the competent Authority judicial recognizes the prerequisites - with the application of alternative measures to prison.
