The magazine "Test" of the German body for testing goods and products reported that it is possible to rely on free navigation applications to reach destinations quickly and reliably;

The German authority tested 17 navigation applications, 15 of which are free, and got a "good" rating, while the two paid applications received an "acceptable" rating.

The German magazine added that it had tested 13 navigation applications in addition to two traditional navigation devices, which are "Tomtom Go Discover 7" and "Garmin DriveSmart 65 & Digital Traffic". Demand for such devices has fallen "severely" with the reliance on navigation applications on smartphones and tablets.

TomTom has launched many applications for mobile devices, such as the paid application “Tom Tom Go Navigation”, which outperformed all applications dedicated to Android devices, and in the next place came the free Google Maps application, then the paid application “Sigk GPS Navigation”. (Sygic GPS Navigation).

As for applications for Apple devices, "iOS", the Google Maps application came in first place, followed by the free Apple Maps application and the paid "Sigk GPS Navigation" application.

There are some applications - such as Tom Tom Go Navigation - that store maps on the mobile device's memory, and although this method occupies the memory space, it saves the user from consuming the Internet package on the smartphone, which may be expensive at times.
