To prevent children from indulging in online games, both "positions" must be guarded

Recently, the National Press and Publication Administration issued the "Notice on Further Strict Management and Practically Preventing Minors from Indulging in Online Games."

The "Notice" pointed out that all online game companies can only provide minors with one hour of service from 20 to 21:00 on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and legal holidays. Other times, they are not allowed to provide minors in any form. Provide online game services (August 31, "China Youth Daily").

Mobile phones and ipads stay the same, and you can eat chickens and fight wild anytime and anywhere in the classroom and at the dining table, and fight fiercely.

In recent years, the trend toward minors in online games has intensified, and more and more children are trapped in the world of online games and are unable to extricate themselves.

According to the National Research Report on Internet Usage by Minors in 2020, 62.5% of minor netizens often play games online, and derivative problems such as Internet addiction and the erosion of violent pornography are prominent.

In the face of minors who lack self-control, online games have gradually changed from a recreational entertainment to a stumbling block to growth.

It not only affects the health of minors, but also delays their precious time for learning knowledge and skills, constructing values and self-identity.

It is imperative to let children get rid of the addiction to online games.

Young people’s addiction to online games is a social problem, and anti-addiction work is a systematic project, and social forces must be united.

First of all, we must ensure that the "online position" is not lost.

On June 1 this year, the newly revised Law on the Protection of Minors was formally implemented, which stipulated that online game services should not be provided to minors from 22:00 to 8:00 the next day.

As the administrative supervision department, the National Press and Publication Administration issued a notice again this time, imposing stricter limits on the time period for online game companies to provide online game services to minors, which will contribute to the implementation of anti-addiction management.

In order to ensure the implementation of the "Notice", the regulatory authorities should intensify investigations and penalties for preventing addiction, and strictly rectify online game companies that are lucky and perfunctory.

As the first wall of anti-addiction actions, online game companies must be responsible.

The anti-addiction system should be set up in strict accordance with the spirit of the "Notice", and real-name authentication should be strictly carried out. For users who are certified as minors, the time period control and the consumption amount limit should be resolutely implemented. The anti-addiction system should not be made in vain.

At the same time, efforts must be made to ensure the safety of "offline positions".

Terminal devices such as smart phones are currently the main terminals for minors to access the Internet. Taking good care of mobile phones is the key to preventing online games from indulging.

The Law on the Protection of Minors clearly stipulates that minor students cannot bring smart terminal products such as mobile phones into the classroom without the permission of the school.

For parents, they must perform their guardianship duties and educate their children to develop good habits.

On the one hand, they consciously and actively install minor network protection software for their own smart terminal products, and actively turn on the youth mode, so as to exercise children's self-control ability and prevent them from using adult accounts to play games and indulge in the Internet in disguise.

On the other hand, it should be reasonable to guide and arrange the behavior of minors to use the Internet.

Let caring and love replace accusations, beatings and scolding, and let the knee-to-heart talk replace criticism and punishment, and guide children to find fun in offline learning and life and find their own value again.

Only with the concerted efforts of the whole society and "both hard and soft" can we jointly build a "protective wall" to prevent minors from indulging in online games.
