In May, the female wolverine Joplin was placed in a quarantine enclosure as she was to be prepared to travel to the Moscow zoo.

But after two days she was gone.

The female wolverine had managed to find a weak point in the fence - a manufacturing defect according to the Nordic Ark - and got out.

Since then, the Nordic Ark's zoological director Ewa Wikberg has tried in various ways to find and capture the wolverine.

But without results.

- During the summer, we have not been worried that she will starve.

She can survive on snails and worms, but now it's starting, says Wikberg.

"Hope she lives"

But since a month ago, the observations of the wolverine have ended.

At the zoo, it is hoped that this is because the crops on the soot nose are not harvested and the wolverine is small and shy.

- I believe and hope that she is alive.

You now only see a small animal like this on the road, so we hope that tips will start coming in when you have finished harvesting.

No new permits

At the moment, no new permits have been applied for to set up cameras and traps on someone else's land in the area.

Joplin has been seen near the zoo since May.

Now it is hoped that the female wolverine will show up before it is too late.

- We are completely dependent on the public hearing when you see something that is not common in our nature.
