Hessen starts with the Corona booster vaccination for people in need of care, people with disabilities and seniors over 80 years of age.

The vaccination is carried out by the family doctors on site in cooperation with the inpatient care and disabled facilities, said Health Minister Kai Klose (Greens) on Wednesday in Wiesbaden.

The mobile teams at the vaccination centers could also provide support.

Those in need of care and people over 80 years of age who live at home could contact their general practitioners for a booster, Klose said.

The booster vaccination will also be given in the vaccination centers.

There should be at least six months between the completion of the first two vaccinations and the booster vaccination.

According to the Minister of Health, the booster vaccination will always take place with BioNTech or Moderna, regardless of the previous vaccine.

The refreshment does not have to take place on a deadline, but can take place in the weeks following the six months.
