This week, a question we should have asked ourselves a long time ago.

At what time should you drink coffee?

Most coffee lovers have a cup of it for breakfast around 7 or 8 in the morning, in order to get a boost. However, neuroscience teaches us that this schedule is not ideal for taking full advantage of the effect of caffeine on the body. Thus, studies show that coffee should rather be consumed between 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Indeed, the substances it contains do not produce the same effects depending on the time of absorption.

Why ?

Because our body releases different hormones during the day;

hormones that interact with molecules we swallow, such as caffeine.

The hormone to consider is cortisol.

It stimulates wakefulness and gives us energy.

However, the level of cortisol in the blood naturally reaches a peak between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

On the contrary, it reaches a very low level between 9:30 am and 11:30 am.

It is therefore during these 2 hours that we must compensate by drinking coffee.
