With the brace against Ireland in the world qualifiers, the new Manchester United striker reaches 111 goals (in 180 games) with the Portugal shirt: this is the new record for goals in the national team, beating the Iranian Ali Daei who had stopped to 109.



Ronaldo already during the 2018 World Cup had appropriated the European record by overcoming Ferenc Puskás (84 goals) while in September 2020, thanks to the goal with Sweden, he had signed his 100th goal with the Portugal shirt. The engagement to Ali Daei last summer, during the European Championship with the double to France.



In Faro, Ireland took the lead in the 45th minute with Evan. CR7 equalized in the 89th minute and scored the winning goal in the 96th minute.



In CR7's palmarès also other records with the national team: he is the best scorer of the European Championships, both in qualifying (44) and in the final stages (14); he is the player who has scored in the most European Championships (five editions); is the European top scorer in the world qualifiers (32).
