The Pentagon: Everything we left at Kabul Airport is “unusable” except for one thing

The Pentagon said on Tuesday that weapons and munitions abandoned by US forces when they left Afghanistan this week have been rendered "unusable" prior to departure.

"We have taken care to disarm and render unusable all equipment at the airport - all aircraft, all ground vehicles," said Pentagon spokesman John Kirby.

"The only thing we've left operable are two fire trucks and some forklifts, so the airport itself can remain more efficient in the future," he added.

Referring to photos that have circulated since US forces left and showed Taliban forces exploring the airport: "So I guess we're not too concerned about these photos of them walking around."
