This is reported by TASS with reference to the statement of the EU Council following an extraordinary meeting of the session at the level of the interior ministers.

“The EU and its member states will act together to prevent the emergence of new uncontrolled massive migration flows that the EU has faced in the past,” the document says.

It is clarified that for this purpose, the union will strengthen support for countries directly bordering Afghanistan, so that refugees receive assistance there.

Earlier, European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Ilva Johansson said that the European Union will convene an international conference in September to resolve the issue of resettlement of refugees from Afghanistan to foreign countries.
