The decision was made by the traffic committee before the summer - a decision which means that approximately 300 train hosts will gradually be phased out.

- It feels like hell.

How can they replace us with cameras, says Hans Eriksson, train host at SL.

A security issue

According to SL, the decision will increase safety for passengers, but according to SEKO's chairman Rainer Andersson, the cameras will not be able to perform the same job as the existing train hosts.

- There is no possibility that cameras will be able to do everything that a train host is responsible for.

With this decision, the traffic committee, the traffic administration and MTR will put the safety and time management out of the system, he says.

SVT has sought traffic region councilor Kristoffer Tamsons (M), who did not have time to comment before the committee.

The cost of the new cameras is SEK 293 million.
