August 31, 2021 The death of a second person was confirmed as a result of Hurricane Ida which devastated Louisiana. However, state governor John Bel Edwards fears that the toll is "noticeably" heavier, according to local media. Thousands of men are working to bring relief to those affected by the calamity. While New Orleans was spared from the worst thanks to the levee system built after Hurricane Katrina, the communities west and south of the city were completely destroyed by the storm.
