The European Union has decided to re-impose restrictions on non-essential travel to its territory from five countries, including the United States and Israel, as part of the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a released statement. Monday.

Kosovo, Israel, Montenegro, Lebanon and North Macedonia were also removed from the list.

This list aims to unify health procedures in the EU but is not binding on member countries, which remain free to set their own procedures.

Member States also retain the possibility of lifting these restrictions for this type of travel for fully vaccinated people, the statement added.
