August 29, 2021 It was a success, all sold out, lots of entertainment and music. La Notte della Liberazione, the 24th edition of La Notte della Taranta, staged last night, saw a thousand people attend the event that brought the public back to the square. The event began with the "pinch of liberation", a song written by the concertmaster Enrico Melozzi, a hymn that brings the rhythm of the Salento land, born after the difficult months of the lockdown.

Following was the narrator of Al Bano together with the two orchestras: the Popular Orchestra La Notte della Taranta and the Orchestra Notturna Clandestina to sing his piece Na Na na. Super guests the trio Il Volo, who performed with Calinitta in grico.

Madame, the 19 year old veteran of the Sanremo Festival, the youngest concertmaster, on the stage of Melpignano sang and danced, intensely interpreting traditional songs and her Marea, rearranged for the occasion with grafts of the Salento song "Aaria caddhipulina".

Rondinella's interpretation is suggestive and intense, during which the artist wore an extraordinary dress entirely made on the loom created by the designer Annalisa Surace of IJO '.

Madame sang, interpreted and wrote an "ad hoc" song for Taranta, singing the suffered love of the song "Dici ca nu me voj ca su piccinna". The Resident Orchestra has also recontextualized traditional pieces: with Fimmine Fimmine from Salento came a message of Peace.

The concert ended with the pinch of Aradeo once again giving emotions to the audience in front of a scenography of lights and illuminations and of the former Augustinian convent in Melpignano, with its doors open for the first time on the evening of La Notte of Taranta.
