Schools surroundings witness a congestion of vehicles as students return to their homes

The vicinity of several private schools in Abu Dhabi witnessed crowding of vehicles during the period of escorting students to return to their homes, and despite the warnings issued by Abu Dhabi Police, recently, regarding random parking of vehicles at the gates, many parents did not comply with this.

For its part, the Abu Dhabi Police warned against violating the preventive and legal measures during the transfer of students, which are: using the designated parking spaces at schools, parking school bus drivers in the designated and safe places, giving students the opportunity to be able to board, sitting in the seats, and making sure their disembarkation, reducing the speed in the vicinity of schools, committing to opening the side “stop” arm when students climb and disembarking, not allowing those under the age of ten to sit in the front seats, committing to implementing preventive measures for safe driving during fog, leaving a safe distance, and teaching children the correct ways To get on and off the bus, warn them not to play on the street, while waiting for buses, pay attention while driving their vehicles, near schools, adhere to safe driving, and cooperate with traffic patrols to enhance the smooth flow of traffic, to avoid accidents.

The Traffic Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police has deployed patrols since the morning on the intersections and internal and external roads in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, to ensure the safety of students while heading to schools.

Failure of the bus driver to open the “stop” sign

Abu Dhabi Police stressed the need to fully stop when the “stop” arm is opened, with a distance of no less than five meters, to ensure that students cross safely, noting that a fine of 500 dirhams and six traffic points will be applied when the bus driver does not commit to opening the “stop” sign. A fine of 1,000 dirhams and 10 points will be applied for drivers not stopping when they see the “stop” sign for buses.
