US Department of Defense announced that it conducted a drone strike in Nangahar province, Afghanistan, on the morning of the 28th in our time.

The state of Nangahar has been identified as the base for IS-K suicide bombings at Kabul airport.

One target was eliminated in the airstrike, and there were no civilian casualties, the Pentagon said.

It is not yet known whether the one person killed was directly related to the Kabul airport attack.

Earlier, President Biden declared the Kabul airport attack an act of Islamic State yesterday and vowed retaliation.

Nearly 170 people, including 13 US soldiers, have been confirmed dead so far in the suicide bombing that took place on the afternoon of local time.

Among those killed were 28 Taliban fighters and three British citizens, including minors.

The number of injured people so far has reached 1,300.

Considering the local chaos and poor medical conditions, the number of casualties is expected to increase.

The Pentagon said there were originally two known suicide bombings, but only one.

The threat of further terrorism is also growing.
