Emirates today

Yesterday, the Corona examination centers witnessed a heavy turnout of students and their parents, one day before the start of the new school year today, forcing them to stay for long periods in these centers to complete the examination.

For its part, the Emirates School Education Foundation allowed students of public schools at the state level, who did not obtain the result of the PCR examination, to work tomorrow instead of today, provided that they submit a negative result for the PCR, due to the severe crowding in the examination centers.

She said in a statement that students who will not be able to obtain the result of a nasal swab due to the high demand for the "Covid-19" examination centers, coinciding with the approach of school hours, can enroll in school tomorrow, provided that the negative result of the examination is brought.

He called on students' families to allocate a list of medical facilities and centers that provide rapid examination for students, to detect infection with the "Covid-19" virus, to make it easier for them, especially those wishing in these emergency and exceptional cases.

Muhammad Bahaa (the father of two students), said that it took him more than an hour and a half inside his car with his two sons, to reach the place of examination, noting that all the vehicles lined up outside the center waiting to enter so that the parents of the students inside could conduct the examination for their children. Hana Othman (mother of a student), and Sherine Salah (mother of two students), stated that they took their children to an examination center yesterday, so that the examination result would be recent, according to the requirements of the return-to-school protocols, but they were surprised by a large crowd of students and their parents in the center.

They added that repeating this matter would be stressful for students and families, calling for the need to put in place a more effective mechanism for examining students, which would lead to the absence of such dense gatherings in front of or inside the examination centers.

They suggested that a student examination center be adopted in each district with a number of schools, so that the examination result would be issued quickly.

Hani Shehab (father of five students) called for the necessity of accrediting the examination center for each neighboring school group, in order to facilitate the students and their families.

He added: "Some private centers conduct a (Corona) examination and the result appears within four hours, but their fees are high (100 dirhams), and therefore a family with five students costs 500 dirhams for examination, and this amount is high."
